Happy Ostara (+ some ways to celebrate)

Happy Ostara! Today is the Vernal Equinox, a time when day and night are equal and we are headed toward longer days in the Northern hemisphere.

We are officially in the midst of Spring, even if it doesn’t quite feel like it yet in your neck of the woods.  The days are definitely getting longer and the signs of spring are all around!

Will you be doing anything to celebrate this time of rebirth, growth, and promise?  Today is a great day to do some spring-related activities and crafts!

You could create an egg tree.

Or make an altar dedicated to Spring that incorporates greens and yellows, flowers, and other signs of the season.  I love the way ours looks in the evening…

altarI’d also like to make a Spring basket with real grass this year.

And try my hand at dying eggs with natural ingredients.

This is also a great time to plant your peas.

Or do some traditional Eostre/Ostara/Easter baking with something like hot cross buns.

Maybe even read a book about Spring with a child!

And of course, today is a great time to get outside and appreciate the changing of the seasons.

What are your favorite ways to craft, cook, and otherwise celebrate this season?  Feel free to share links below!
