The sunset reveals that the Winter Solstice (Midwinter, Yule) draws near.
This date marks the shortest day and longest night of the year, but also a time for change, rebirth, new beginnings, and the return of the Light! From this moment on, the days will gradually grow longer and longer until we reach the Summer Solstice.
This is not, nor has it ever been, a time for fear. Even if you like to think of the ancients’ predictions (as admittedly, I do), you will find that they speak of the end of an era and the beginning of the next. Never the end of everything.
Instead, this is a time for great hope.
May we awaken to understand how we impact the Earth and one another so that we can move into an era where all beings thrive.
This is my Solstice wish!
I join you in that wish and hope that many others will too.
I am looking forward to new beginnings and the return of light! I just keep remembering that once that day comes, each following day will gradually become longer and longer. I thrive in the sun; I’m no good after the sun goes down!
wonderful pics! 🙂
So lovely to meet a like mind… here’s hoping your Yule was beautiful!
