about

Welcome to These Light Footsteps, the blog related to Light Footsteps Herb Farm & Learning Center.
My name is Christine and I'm a permaculturist, herbalist, and biologist doing my best to follow the rhythms of the natural world. I like to write about herbalism, backyard farming, permaculture projects, simple living, and finding spirit in nature. I'm also an attachment/gentle parent and advocate for women's choices in birth.
Please look around, I hope you'll find something you like!

The surrender, the power, the triumph, the love. Amazing every time!
It’s an honor to witness the strength and courage required of this journey each time.
Teamwork is essential in the birth world! Thanks for having us learn and grow with you @wc_holisticmidwifery !
🚨 Don’t head into your birth day unprepared! 🚨 I hear people say a lot that they will just “see how it goes”, but this is a monumental event that you can have so much more agency in than you may realize. Knowing your options, being prepared for the stages and sensations of labor, knowing what to expect in the immediate postpartum is invaluable information that will leave you with the ability to feel empowered no matter what the ultimate outcome of your birth. Join me and @mamabirdhendry for a 4-week deep dive into all the essentials for an empowered birth and postpartum. Class starts (virtually) Saturday, February 5! Let me know if you have any questions - link to register in my bio!
So honored to learn from and work with @thevillagecle! A truly amazing resource for our community!
A winter pause. ❄️ I hope you are all finding some peace in these cold, dark days. I just wanted to give a brief update that I am laying really low this January going through a metamorphosis of sorts. One version of my life is dying and I am taking time to care for myself and start dreaming for what is next. I will begin scheduling appointments for clients and come out of my winter rest toward Imbolc in the beginning of February. Following nature’s rhythms has been my calling for quite some time so this is a natural point of rest and retreat for us all. I hope you can take it easy as well! ❄️ For anyone interested, I will have another childbirth ed series on Saturdays February 5, 19 and March 5, 19. You can sign up at the link in my bio!
Reach out Saturday-Tuesday to schedule your doula interview or initial herbal consult and receive the discount on your 2022 services! Or head to the shop for 15% off during this sale window. Thank you for your support of my small business. ❤️
This fall I’ve been advancing my skill set learning the Body Ready Method to help my clients ease pregnancy discomforts and help the body get into better alignment for childbirth and postpartum recovery. It is an amazing synthesis of understanding the body and how to help make pregnancy and birth less painful and more enjoyable! The Body Ready Method is available in a program for parents called @onestrongmamaprenatal .
